Kek pelangi simple untuk anak-anak.

Bila birthday boy nak buat sendiri birthday cake dengan his cousin brother. We tried this rainbow cake as he wanted it to be colourful. Well, kids love it when it is attractive. In addition, this recipe is quite easy for kids to bake. Parents pula nak buat apa?

Assist them and guide them. So try this out with your kids!

Resepi

Bahan-bahan:

1) 1 cawan butter

2) 1/2 cawan gula (nak kurangkan boleh juga)

3) 5 biji telur

4) 1/2 cawan susu segar

5) 2 cawan tepung gandum

6) 1 sudu kecil baking powder (tidak perlu jika guna tepung naik sendiri)

7) 2 sudu kecil essence vanilla

8) Pewarna makanan (ikut suka anak nak warna apa dan berapa warna)

Cara-cara:

1) Pukul gula dan butter sampi kembang.

2) Masukkan telur sebiji demi sebiji sambil pukul adunan.

3) Masukkan susu pekat dan susu cair.

4) Masukkan tepung.

5) Tuangkan sedikit essence vanilla.

6) Bakar pada suhu 180 darjah celcius untuk 15 hingga 20 minit (check dulu guna 
    pencungkil gigi atau pisau untuk pastikan kek sudah masak atau tidak. Jika licin pisau 
    itu,maknanya kek itu dah masak, tapi kalau ada tepung still melekit-lekit di pisau            
    maknanya tak habis masak lagi tau). 

ECO shop and books

This is why we love ECO a lot. We were shocked to see the latest collection of books especially the islamic books. So tanpa memandang kiri dan kanan, kami grab semua edisi yang ada. Mana lagi nak dapat buku RM2.12 sebuah. Bagi saudara dan saudari yang ada anak kecil, cepat pergi beli. Rugi sangat kalau habis.  

So far, the books are really informative and attractive. Budak-budak memang suka sebab ada dalam bentuk komik dan cartoon yang comel-comel. 

Experiment on microorganism in water.

We conducted this experiment with kids. We bought a mini microscope in Mr Diy with a very affordable price. We also got other accessories too.  Its a really good deal.

Then, kami mulakan usaha mengkaji.  
First of all, we tried to identify the presence of bacteria in our fish pond. Oh noooo.. banyaknya bacteria yang tengah berenang di dalam setitik air.

(Boleh lihat di video bagaimana bakteria yang menyerupai biji selasih yang sedang melompat-lompat dengan gembira). Masha ALLAH, banyaknya bakteria di dalam setitik air.

this experiment has taught kids about living things and microorganisms. Now, they know about the existence and presence of other living things  that our raw eyes cannot see.
Masya ALLAH, look how beautifully ALLAH SWT has created this world. 

So now let us see what is in Quran about microorganism. 

The Holy Quran says:

قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

“Oh Prophet You say: Call upon those Gods whom you claim to besides Allah; as they don’t control even a tiny particle’s weight in either heaven or on earth” [34:22]

The Arabic word ذَرَّةٍ (dhurr-ah) means very tiny particle that includes both one-celled microbes and Atom molecule. Almighty Allah teaches through this verse that He, himself, controls the wide unseen world of microbes. 

Ramai orang yang tidak mengetahui mengenai dunia microbes ini. Ianya teramat kecil sehingga lebarnya berada di dalam julat antara 0.2microne (one micron is one thousandth of a mille meter) to 0.5microne. Saintis juga telah membuktikan bahawa microbes menyebabkan kebanyakkan penyakit epidemic.

Ayat ini telah membuktikan kesemua benda sehingga yang paling kecil hanya boleh di kawal oleh ALLAH SWT dan kita sebagai manusia tidak mampu untuk mengawalnya atau mempunyai kuasa untuk mengarahkannya seperti yang kita sukai.

Carpentry.

Hubby wanted to set up his home office. So, we decided to do this project ourselves. We set up everything from painting the wall, fixing the desk and doing the carpentry jobs ourselves with the help of our kids and their cousin. Alhamdullilah, it was a success!

As parents we have learned that kids can be trained to do everything that we thought impossible and difficult as long as they get enough guidance and exposure. Age and gender should not be barriers! In fact, sometimes girls can do better than boys.

Kids are also fast learners. So nothing to worry, although they make mistake but they will learn from it and correct themselves faster than us.

P/S: Correcting and guiding them are our responsibilities.

My son suka sangat membaca komik sekarang ni. I'm not so interested with comics like Boboiboy (banyak sangat action). Yang Islamic pula byk yang guna girl character ( dia pula tak berapa minat sbb dia kata mcm comic untuk girl sahaja )
So I went to search for the educational comics like The Young Scientists (he really loves it ). Next time i 'll review it. So bila nampak this comic, dia memang super excited minta belikan. At first, I tak brp nak bagi beli tapi hubby gave his green light suruh beli. I bought it and finished reading it first before him. 

i was shocked with its content. Malam tu terus planned nak subscribe for one year but unfortunately cuma ada 2 siri je. Cikgu Kamil please continue. U did an extremely good job!

Coming back to 'Superneuron'. Kenapa bagus sangat? 

1) Content padat dan cara penyampaian yg santai. It helps to answer kids' questions like ' kenapa kena solat? bila kita solat, otak akan mendapat oksigen yg banyak, dan menjadikan otak bekerja 7% lebih cepat dan 14 lebih tepat. ALLAH sayang kita, sebab tu ALLAH suruh solat untuk kita jadi cemerlang.

Mini books origami.

Mini books by Zikrur Rahman and Zahra. 

Few have asked me, how the kids got the ideas? 
First, usually, we watch Youtube together before we start our art activity. 

Second, jangan mengharapkan kerja yang perfect and kemas dan cun macam dekat Youtube tu. They are kids and don't except too much from them. They will learn as they grow up.

War board from unused boxes.

Alhamdulillah, we managed to complete the war board game as requested by Zikrur Rahman. We spent almost the whole day to complete this board. We used various unused cardboard boxes.  This project costed us around RM10. 

What do we need for this war board?

1) Different kind and sizes of unused boxes:
    - Snack boxes.
    - Gift box.
    - Tisue boxes / Egg carton.
    - Wallpaper role ( Don't throw the roles if you buy wallpaper).
2) UHU /Elephant glue/ any strong glue (can get it at ECO shop).
3) Water colour.
4) Water.
5) Brush.
6) Toy soldiers. 

Donut kentang

Since they love donut, this time I let them to do donut kentang. Although it was a bit tiring but they enjoyed the process. Only at the final stage, the taikos Zahra and her father helped them to complete the process. Actually, taikos came into the picture bila nak kena siapkan cepat sikit sebab chef 4 tahun dan 6 tahun ni seronok sangat main buat bentuk donut. So,ended up ada donut yang besar, ada yang kecil, ada yang senget and ada yang bulat cantik. However, the best part was semuanya yummy and delicious.

Tips:
This activity ini akan membantu anak-anak dalam menggunakan motor skills mereka seperti mengupas kentang, menguli adunan, membentuk donut dan memecahkan telur.

Doughnut balls / Bola-bola donut

Berdonat lagi kami hari ini. Nak bawa bekal pergi sekolah. Nasiblah resepi senang, bolehlah kami buat sendiri tapi kami tak dibenarkan goreng sendiri. Jangan terkejut, macam-macam bentuk balls yang ada. Kami buat ikut suka hati kami je.

Resepi ini ummi kami ambil dari Azie kitchen sebab rasanya senang sangat and simple. 

Resepi

Bahan-bahan:
1) 1 kg tepung gandum
2) 1 paket yis
3) 2 sudu besar susu pekat manis
4) 1/2 sudu kecil garam
5) 1/2 cawan minyak masak
6) 500ml air masak
7) Castor sugar

Cara-cara:
1) Susu dan garam dicampurkan dalam air.
2) Campurkan yis dan tepung gandum sehingga rata di dalam bekas yang lain.
3) Masukkan minyak masak ke dalm tepung dan gaul sampai halus.
3) Masukkan susu tadi ke dalam bekas tepung dan gaul.
4) Rehatkan adunan dalam 15 minit.
5) Uli semula sehingga tiada tepung yang melekat di jari.
6) Bagi kat anak untuk buat buat bentuk bola golf atau bola ping pong.
7) Biarkan dalam 30 minit hingga 1 jam.
7) Goreng dengan api yang sederhana.
8) Tabur atau salut dengan castor sugar. 

34th birthday gifts.

Advance birthday gifts from Zikrur Rahman and Zahra for my 34th birthday. The whole day I wore it as they were excited seeing me wearing their hand made crafts. They wanted me to do so too.

The feeling of being appreaciate is so special. The same goes to our kids. kalau kita yang dah tua pun rasa special  ila dihargai, apa lagi anak-anak kan?

They do feel the same when we always appreciate them. Let us appreciate our kids and thank  ALLAH SWT for giving us the opportunity to bring up these little tiny men.

Animal park.

Project 'animal park' with my mother in law and kids. A good experience for all of us. This activity can help kids to be more imaginative and learn about the types of animals in a different way.

For examples: How to differentiate between herbivor and carnivor? Can they live together? What would happen if they live together?

So, here are the things that we need to build this animal park.
